“A great local pub with a friendly welcome and fantastic beer!!”

"Friendly landlord, landlady and locals. Food very nice and reasonably priced. The establishment is very comfortable, with a lounge for dining & drinking and a separate games room that has a TV for watching the footy when it is on. There are a few benches in front of the pub, and in the evening you can watch the stunning sunsets. You can even buy real ale to takeaway too!! A absolute must if you are in the area."
Richard F.

"The beers are well-kept, delicious and great value. Food is also available and very nice too. All in all a lovely traditional pub in a marvellous unspoilt location. All in all there is only one word to sum up The ShipFantastic!"

"What a find, perfect for a short break, very comfortable and very handy for the Lake District, away from the usual Lakes crowds."

"Been here on many occasions over the years and find the owners very hospitable and very welcoming to children letting them play pool, supervised by us. The food is good as well as the real ales. "

"Came across the Ship by accident after a long journey from Yorkshire to Cumbria. Received a very hospitable welcome and enjoyed a wonderful meal, so much so that we had to return today. The welcome was just as good and the food first class. It was nice that they are dog friendly and we will definitely return."

"Stayed in Allonby for a week in August 2015 with friends (all of us from London)and called in the pub for several evenings during our stay. We found the hospitality excellent, with good food and nice people, not forgetting the very satisfying Yates' Solway Gold Ale.We even joined in the Quiz night on Friday which we all enjoyed."

"Visited The Ship at Allonby during our annual visit to the picturesque Solway Coast. What can I say, this is just a great pub in a lovely location and it is definitely well worth a look if you are ever in the area. The sign outside The Ship sums it up rather nicely: Real Food, Real Ale, Real Craic, Real Pub."
